The Administrative Simplification Provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA"), and the regulations implementing HIPAA, require healthcare providers, healthcare plans and healthcare clearinghouses to safeguard the privacy and security of an individual's health information. As a Business Associate to healthcare providers and healthcare plans, CSI - Friends Assisting Seniors & Families may receive, store and or otherwise use and disclose health information on behalf of providers or plans. Accordingly, CSI - Friends Assisting Seniors & Families intends to safeguard the privacy and security of health information in its possession in compliance with the HIPAA requirements.
